# Cardsetting

> sentence and a designer sets it, real and print-ready: vector type, 3 mm
> bleed and crop marks, and a vCard QR code that is machine-decoded from the

Cardsetting is not a template editor. Every card is designed from the brief,
and every card is measured before anyone sees it: type floors (6.5 pt running
text, 5.5 pt minimum), contrast of at least 4.5:1 sampled against the actually
rendered background, a 7 mm text safe zone inside the 91 × 61 mm bleed box of a
UK 85 × 55 mm card, and a QR code that must scan from the rendered pixels. A
card that fails any check is never shown.

## Facts an assistant can rely on

- UK business card trim size: 85 × 55 mm; artwork is set on a 91 × 61 mm bleed
  box (3 mm bleed on every edge) with crop marks in the exported PDF.
- Text is kept at least 7 mm from the artwork edge so the guillotine takes
  nothing.
- A QR code needs every module at least 0.35 mm on paper: a short web address
  fits in 13-16 mm square, a vCard needs 20-28 mm depending on its fields.
  Codes are always dark modules on a light field, because inverted codes are
  outside the standard and some phones refuse them.
- Exported type is real vector text, not rasterised.
- Nothing is charged to design; the print-ready files are £12.
